On Wednesday, July 26, Callie was at cheer camp in College Station, and was found unresponsive when she should have woken up from sleeping. She was life flighted to Texas Children’s in the medical center in Houston. Doctors said she had at least 5 rounds of cardiac arrest & was without oxygen for a period of time. Her heart is very weak and the cardiologist says she has what is referred to as Long QT syndrome.
As of tonight, Friday, July 28, the primary goal of the doctors is to keep Callie stable until Monday when the MRI to find out more is tentatively scheduled.
From Callie’s parents: We simply do not understand how or why this has happened to our beautiful, spirited and loving 16 year daughter. We want everyone to know we see your prayers and well wishes and all the wonderful support we have received and we thank you. The palliative care team was sent in to speak with us today. Please pray for a miracle.
